About Me

Why me as a tutor? I'm a friendly and people-oriented individual, eager to share my passion for education with others. I have plenty of experience tutoring and have scanned through thousands of examiners' reports and mark schemes, so I know exactly how to approach every exam question type seen in GCSE Science as well as other GCSE subjects that I am confident in teaching. I achieved 11 A*s at GCSE and aim to ensure my students can too. Having passed the 11+ with flying colours and attended grammar school, 11+ tutoring has been refreshing and I enjoy teaching verbal and nonverbal reasoning on top of Maths and English. It’s amazing to see students pass and go onto study at their dream schools.

About my sessions

Learning should be an enjoyable experience so I aim to make my lessons both informative and interactive, inviting questions throughout the session to ensure no stone is left unturned. I take creative approaches to ensure my students are not just passively learning but also actively recalling the information taught through the use of worksheets. As a tutor, I also believe that every student should be equipped with content material as well as exam preparation skills. Therefore, my teaching plans involve the addition of: - Weekly assessments based on topics covered to brush over weaker areas and confirm comprehension - Complete assessments after sufficient amount of content has been covered to simulate exam experiences - Practical guidance and demonstrations on how an expert approaches and tackles such challenging questions I like to encourage growth and self-developmental skills to instil a sense of confidence within my students. The independent homework tasks and regular progress checks help them achieve this by identifying their areas of strength and future improvement. Most importantly, I believe that every student is unique and requires an individual learning plan of action. I work hard to create tailored work and targeted material to help them reach their full potential.
