At Merit Tutors, we aim to provide your child with a solid foundation for understanding of the relevant material required for KS3. We want to ensure that your child is confident enough to ease into their GCSE’s and has learnt the correct skills to succeed in the secondary school curriculum. We understand that each KS3 year group requires a different style of tutoring; therefore, our tutors take the time to understand your child’s needs in order to provide a specifically tailored and individualisedteaching service.
Our teachers understand the difficulty some students face and we are here to empathise with you whilst also ensuring that your child is supported in every way possible throughout their academic journey. We aim to challenge students, even from younger years, in order to develop their analytical skills and thought processes so that they are able to tackle GCSE’s further along the line. We listen to each student attentively to understand what they need from us, and always aim to deliver according to their expectations. Our centre creates personalised, diagnostic resources in line with the national curriculum to make certainthat we target each individual directly whilst, at the same time keeping in line with the national curriculum structure.
Each teacher conducts regular tests that mimic school examinations so the students, the teachers and the parents can obtain a sense of the progress that is being made and areas in which they need to improve.
Past papers are often used during lessons so that students are eventually able to answer any difficult questions by instinct as they become familiar with the format and structure of the test papers.
We keep online records of each student and make sure that we know what topics in mathematics that they are struggling in and where they can develop further.
Paper feedback is also provided to students which they use at home to further practice and improve on what they have learnt in the tuition classroom.
Regular homework is given after each class, so that students get enough practice on the course content at home.

“Each lesson we do a refresher of the previous topic we studied so we don’t forget, then start a new topic and then get homework on it. It’s hard but it helps me at school and I can be ahead of all my friends.”

‘I used to really struggle with science because I didn’t understand how to properly learn Biology, Chemistry and Physics, but now I can apply the knowledge that I learn to the unusual questions on the exam papers.’
