If there is a will there is a way. I strongly believe that working with me is going to help motivate the purpose for learning any subject, as that is ultimately the key to a good education.

I am a University Student studying Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Edinburgh. I have completed my A-Levels and GCSE's scoring highly in both. I am kind, friendly, careful and perceptive in my approach to teaching. There is no rush with learning, and any level of progress will not be dismissed, I really do care about the experience of learning not just the outcomes. Although the consequences of excellent grades will indeed be of value. I offer sessions for English Literature at all stages and with any exam board, Psychology with any exam board and also Religious Studies with any exam board.
My sessions will take place via Microsoft Team or Zoom dependant on the preference of the client. The sessions will usually be for an hour, however upon request can be increased up to 2 hours closer to exam periods or for extra help. The structure of the sessions with either subject (English Literature, Psychology or Religious Studies) will follow a FAST format. We begin by temporarily Forgetting all we know about a certain topic in order to keep an open mind and understand information as fresh. Next is the Active stage where questions are asked , there are pauses and short activities such as remembering a list of key words or answering exam questions. We then move to the State, where we will ensure that we are in a good state internally and externally. We want to check in and make sure that the student is in a good place to continue learning and feels happy with what has happened so far, if they aren't this is a point to back track or use alternative approaches. Lastly, we arrive to Teach where we want to make sure the student feels so confident in what they have learned that the roles get reversed. I stay quiet for the remaining 10 minutes or so, where the student will teach me a summarised version of what they have learned, demonstrating their ability to hold the information.
